Home-Start Greenwich provides a place of care and refuge for families facing loneliness, hardship, or parenting challenges. They offer quality family support services through their Home Visiting Scheme and Children Centres, designed to meet the needs of parents and carers of children aged 0-5 who live in their local community.

For many, the warmth and comfort we associate with Christmas, a hot meal, celebrations with family and friends, and a gift under the tree, are heartbreakingly out of reach. Often, Look Ahead is their only source of support.

An estimated 20% of children in Bromley are living in poverty, which equates to over 16,000 children. For many of those children, there will be no visit from Father Christmas, no stockings filled with gifts, no Christmas tree surrounded by presents and no festive feast and treats to enjoy.

Christmas should be a joyful and magical occasion for all children, and every year, BBB strive to make this a reality. In 2024, they were able to provide for over 620 children and their families, and they are anticipating an even higher number for 2025.

BBB supports families by providing a huge array of Christmas essentials & goodies. Their ‘Christmas for Every Child’ hampers are filled with books, toys, gifts, games, Christmas treats, toiletries, cosy nightwear, and food vouchers. ECF’s donation of £1,000 will help BBB fill their last hampers with stocking fillers for babies and teenagers.

The team is managed by FFT’s Steve Dillon, who’s taking on the exciting role of coaching his son’s team. This partnership holds special significance, as ECF Partner, Robin proudly represented Old Roan FC in the past.

BTTC is a community table tennis club with a focus on social value in Brighton and Hove, running sessions for over 1,500 people each week. They aim to transform lives by providing positive role models, increasing engagement with education and community, and improving health and well-being.

In January 2025, BTTC opened a new location in Moulsecoomb, marking an exciting new chapter. With the help of their recent Crowdfunder, they have raised an amazing £109,340, which will help them launch a dedicated para hub for players with physical and learning disabilities, host monthly community meals, and run a variety of inclusive sessions, free or at concessionary rates, to ensure that cost isn’t a barrier.

Collectively, the campaign raised £17,050, funding Christmas meals, gifts, and celebrations across Look Ahead’s services, as well as vouchers to help families with presents for their children.

A service manager at one of their homelessness services shared:

“Seeing residents smile and enjoy the day was incredibly rewarding. It showed how much small gestures can mean. It brought everyone together. Even those who are usually quiet joined in and shared how much they appreciated it.”

We’re incredibly grateful to have played a small part in this. A huge thank you to Look Ahead Care and Support for the vital work they do year-round.

The donated resources, which include writing slopes, privacy boards, sensory cushions, fidget toys, timers, emotional regulation tools, and teacher reference books, are designed to assist children with diverse learning needs. These items will play a crucial role in helping students thrive in their education by providing the necessary support for their individual learning styles.

We are proud to contribute to the development of these young minds and to make a positive impact on their educational journey.

With some fantastic support from our friends at L&Q, the team have donated over 70 Christmas jumpers, stocking fillers, and chocolates to Bromley Brighter Beginnings! It’s wonderful to know these contributions have gone towards hampers, bringing smiles to families in need this festive season.
